Mt. Hiunchuli is one of the most popular peaks in Annapurna Region of Nepal, situated proudly at the elevation of 6,441 meters above the sea level. It is a group ‘B’ categorized climbing peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and considered as difficult peak to be climbed. The peak is 4th highest elevation climbing peak, whose first expedition was made by American Peace Corps Expedition team in late 1971. However, there are two routes for summiting the peak, i.e. from South-East face route and North-West face route. Climbing this peak from South-West face is not so technical but dangerous because of rock fall and North-West route is not well-known and none of the climb made from this route is unsuccessful.
Despite being challenges and obstacles in climbing Hiunchuli Peak, you can enjoy really amazing Himalaya’s views in the Annapurna region, which includes Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Mt. Machhapuchhare, Mt. Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche peak and many more mountain vistas in the range. In addition, you can experience mixed culture and traditions of different ethnicity and observe mesmerizing natural heritages and sceneries along with gazing views of diverse landscape. However, because of locating in an isolated area of Nepal, only a few mountaineers have made their trip onto the summit of the peak, allowing you to explore unexploited nature and off the beaten trail.
Trekking Route
Hiunchuli Peak Climbing journey starts with a drive/flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu valley and another flight taking you to Nayapul, from where you can start your trek.
