Ramdung Peak is one of the challenging climbing peaks in the border of Khumbu and Rolwaling valley of Nepal. The peak is situated at the elevation of 5,925 meters from sea level. It is a group ‘B’ categorized climbing peak in Nepal by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Technically not so difficult peak to be climbed but faces lots of challenges because of being in the remotest area of the country. In contrast, offers unbelievable proximity to the Himalayas and wonderful nature. This easy but challenging journey takes you to the gorgeous ice glacial Lake of Tso Rolpa. The journey passes through the dense jungles, beautiful suspension bridges, cross fast flowing rivers and deep valleys. You can enjoy the mesmerizing views of high mountains likes Everest, Melungtse, and Gaurishankar always in the backdrop.
However, the first ascent to the peak was made by Scottish Himalayan Expedition Team in 1952. The expedition was led by Bill Murray with Yalung Ri (5,630 meters) and Chhugyima Go (6,259 meters) peaks at the same time. From that time, the peak is climbed by numerous numbers of climbers or expeditors. Although, the straightforward climb is needed to touch the summit of the peak lucky lies in an impressive position. And hence provides mesmerizing panorama ranging from Langtang to Everest Region presenting eye-catchy views of Gauri Shankar and Menlungtse peaks.
