Mt. Kongma Tse (previously known as Mehra Peak) is one of the high peaks in Khumbu Region of Nepal. The peak stands proudly at the elevation of 5,849 meters above sea level. It is a group ‘B’ categorized climbing peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). The peak makes the longer Southwest ridge of high mountain Nuptse standing above the amazing Khumbu glacier to the north of Kongma La. However, Kongma Tse Peak Climbing is one of the technically difficult peaks to be climbed. It is because the trek requires walking through snowy glaciers, rocky walls, and ice, which is considered to be much challenging. Hence, it is very necessary to have ideas and techniques of climbing. It will be best if you have previous peak climbing or long trekking experience in higher elevation.
Moreover, the peak is much attractive and impressive in the shape of diamond glaciers hanging above the steep rock. The peak was permitted for climbing in late 2002. Kongma Tse Peak Climbing journey is full of adventure and wilderness in the remote land of the country passing through beautiful rhododendron forests, wonderful waterfalls, suspension bridges, native Sherpa’s settlement, and their Tibetan-influenced culture and traditions and challengingly adventurous and enjoyable walk, impressing you in each time of the trip. You can enjoy the mesmerizing views of beautiful mountains like Mt. Everest, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Pumori, Baruntse and many more high peaks.
Climbing Root
Your peak climbing journey starts with a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu valley. From Lukla, you can actually start your trekking trip. Kongma Tse Peak trek started from Lukla follows the way passing through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Pheriche, Lobuche, Everest Base Camp, Kala Pattar (and get back to Lobuche), Dingboche, Chhukung, Kongma Tse Base Camp and finally to the summit of the peak at the elevation of 5,849 meters. Furthermore, the descending trail from the summit of the peak passes through Chhukung, Dingboche, Tengboche, Namche Bazaar and finally to Lukla. Lukla is the ending point of this trek. From Lukla, like arrival, a scenic flight will take you back to Kathmandu valley.
Best Season
Moreover, the best time to make this peak climbing journey is spring season (March, April, and May) and autumn season (September, October, and November).
