Paldor Peak is one of the high peaks in Langtang Region of Nepal, situated at the elevation of 5,896 meters above sea level. The peak is group ‘B’ categorized climbing peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), which means the peak is categorized as one of the difficult peaks to be climbed. The peak is located at the junction of Tiru and Karpu hill at the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trisuli River and the peak was first ascended in 1974 by John Cleare and Lan Howell. However, the peak can be climbed from various routes, being all of the popular such as North East, South East, West and South West ridges. Paldor Peak Climbing journey is finely challenging because the trekking trail follows the unfrequented path and previous peak climbing experience and well physical condition is the most for the easiness in the trip.
However, Paldor Peak Climbing journey follows one of the most untouched and unexploited Himalayan trekking routes in the Ganesh Himal range, allowing you to encounter many rivers like the Langtang River and Bhotekoshi River, which are really beautiful. You will also pass through many villages such as Gatlang and Tangjet, where you can interact with them and exchange culture with them. Moreover, Paldor Peak trek offers you with the untouched creation of natural beauty, wondering landscapes, beautiful villages and various dense forests along with mesmerizing mountain views. In addition, you can enjoy the magnificent views of majestic mountains like Machhapuchhre in the Annapurna range, various high peaks of the Khumbu Region including Shisapangma and many more mountains as well as scenic nature views, from the summit of the peak.
Trekking Route
Paldor Peak Climbing trip starts with a drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu valley, which can be reached in about 6 hours. From Syabrubesi, you can start your actual trek and follow the way passing through Gatlang Village, Somdang, Lari, Paldor Base Camp (4,980 meters), High Camp (5,200 meters) and finally to the summit of the Paldor Peak at the elevation of 5,896 meters from sea level. Furthermore, from the top of the peak, trek back to Base Camp of the peak and follow the way through Somdang, Galtang Village, Tatopani, Nagthali Ghyang (Hike and back to Tatopani) and finally Syabrubesi, finishing the trekking trail. As per arrival, a comforting drive from Syabrubesi will take you back to Kathmandu valley.
Best Season
Nevertheless, the best season to make this peak climbing trip in autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). You can have a comfortable journey and more exploration.
