Kakani

One of those cool places which everyone needs to visit. Kakani is widely famous for its recreational activities, programs, camping, natural vegetation and wild life. The place has profoundly become one of the favorite picnic spot and travel spot in Kathmandu. If you ask a random person “Do you know where kakani is “he/she will tell you without hesitation. Because practically everyone from Kathmandu valley has been there in some point of their life. And its easily one of the most beloved places for all city folks. In general, it is also known as the cousin of Nagarkot and Dhulikel.

Kakani lies in the Nuwakot district. It ranges about 2000meters in height and lies about 24.2km north west from Kathmandu. Kakani promises to take you away from the hustle of Kathmandu. Kakani is just off the road to trishuli bazaar and is relatively quieter and slower than its neighbors. This place is bombarded and gifted by natural vegetation, habitat and wild life. It also offers a very easy and peaceful choice for a day hiking. kakani always gets people surprised because of its glorious and majestic wild views and of course our national flower “rhododendrons” growing on the slopes of breath taking mountain around the winter season. It consists of all mountain scenery, oak and pine forest above all, the hiking spot is quite famous for the sights of mountain landscapes. It offers some great view of the magnificent mountain ranges of Ganesh himal, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, etc. It is a place gifted by mother nature to us.
