Pathibhara Devi Temple or Mukkumlung is one of the most significant temple which is located in the hill of Taplejung, Nepal and also considered as the holy places for Limbu people (Kirat religious groups). Worshippers from different parts of Nepal as well as other countries come to this temple in special occasion as it is believed to be fulfillment of pilgrim’s wishes. The goddess in pathibhara is belived to fulfill the dreams of her devotees, like son for those who are without sons, wealth for the poor and many other fulfillment of dreams for her devotees. The pilgrim offers animal sacrifice, gold or silver, money to please the goddess.
The location of this temple is 19.4 North East from phungling municipality at an elevation of 3,794 m (12,444.32 ft) which also serves as the secondary route for Kanchenjunga treks. This temple lies in the junction of three VDCs i.e. Tapethok, Limkhim and PhawaKhola. The journey to Pathibhara starts from Suketar, that is a couple of 20-minute drive from Phungling Bazaar, and so 1–2 hours driving from Suketar to Sano Phedi. Pathibhara Hindu deity is regarding 3–4 hours walk from Sano Phedi. Suketar flying field two,840 m (9,318 ft) at Suketar is that the solely STOL flying field in Taplejung district, connecting Katmandu and Biratnagar by regular flights. Pathibhara path passes through Deurali, Ramitedanda, Chhatedhunga, Bhalugaunda and Phedi before finally reaching the temple. Residents on the path provide food and lodging facilities. Basic accommodation facilities also are offered for pilgrims close to the temple premises.
It takes about 30 minutes to travel from Tribhuwan Airport, Kathmandu to Pathibhara temple by airplane and about a day (24 hours) by bus from Kathmandu. If you want to visit from Chitwan it takes about 18 hours by bus and from Pokhara, it takes about a day to reach there by bus. The best time to visit the temple is during Pre-monsoon (March to June) and Post-monsoon (September to November) seasons.
