Siddha Baba Temple

Siddha Baba Temple is a Hindu temple of Lord Shiva located in the border of Palpa and Rupendehi district of Nepal at a distance of about 2 km from Butwal Municipality. The temple is visited by the people all over Nepal, usually and mostly by the people of neighboring districts. It is believed that whoever visit the temple, their wishes comes true and there is a tradition of releasing a pigeon whose wishes come true. Therefore, the large number of pigeon has been contributed around the temple.

The temple is located at the bank of Tinau River which is on the way to Pokhara and a small river namely Chidiya Khola flows near the temple. The temple is mostly visited by Hindus during the days of Saturday, Monday and other various religious festivals which are connected to Lord Shiva directly or indirectly. A large numbers of Hindu people visit this temple during the festival of Shivaratri to worship as the festival is directly connected to god Shiva. The main belief about this temple is that Siddha Baba will grant the wishes of the devotees whoever visits the temple each and every time. And the tradition when one’s wishes come true is releasing a pigeon at the temple when may imply that one’s wishes has come true.

Although, Siddha Baba temple is very simple lagging of enough space for hanging out but carries great religious and spiritual value associated to god Shiva and mostly the temple is visited for this purpose only. If you want to get rid of large crowd then then don’t visit the temple on Saturdays as it is weekly holiday in Nepal and large number of local devotees visit the temple in this day.
