Aircraft Museum Dhangadhi

Aircraft Museum is an aviation museum established in 2014 by former Nepalese Bed Upreti and his trusts which is located in Dhangadhi, the western part of Nepal which is 500 kilometers west from Kathmandu. It was the first aircraft museum of Nepal and consist about 200 small-scaled commercial planes and fighter jets on the display. The main motive behind its creation by Bed Upreti and his team was to promote tourism awareness to Nepal’s remote area. The earning from the museum is used to help the cancer patient which is such a good feeling towards social welfare by museum creator and every related person.

Aircraft Museum is housed inside the unused Fokker-100 plane which was earlier operated by cosmic air until it shut down in late 2008 and the plane is about 35.53 meters in length. When visitors proceed towards the entrance of the museum, they are greeted by a sign bearing instructions for taking off their shoes and further the door opens and a man dressed as flight attendant’s uniform offers greeting to all visitors which somehow provides the experience of a real pilot. The tour begins winding its way through the interior of the aircraft and during the stop in the plane’s cockpit, guides inside the plane provide the useful knowledge or communicate to the visitors about the more technical aspects of how one actually goes about navigating and flying aircraft. For this amazing tour, visitors should pay some entrance fee as Rs. 100 for general visitors and Rs. 50 for students and this museum is open from 9 AM to 6 PM.

However, this awesome tour offers over 200 models of commercial and fighter jets line in the wall of the plane which was all built by local children. One thing you should pay attention to this tour is you must pay very careful attention to blue and white sign along the road which may result to get lost along the way.
