Canyoning in Kakani

Kakani is a famous canyoning destination located near Kathmandu valley in just 35 kilometers in distance. This journey features two wonderful and thrilling canyons as Phung Phunye (height at 185 meters) and Chhare (height at 145 meters). These two canyons are situated in Dhansar and Jurethum villages in Kakani area. This destination consists of enough water flow which is neither cold or hot and situated at the altitude of 1,325 meters from sea level. From Phung Phunye canyon, you can view the besutiful panorama of Ganesh Himal with Manaslu and Langtang regions while falling down from the canyon. Chhare canyon also falls in a wonderful setting allowing you to gain maximum adventure and fun. These canyons are not too far from the popular hill station of Kakani.

The journey of Canyoning in Kakani can be started from Dhansar village which can be reached from the short drive from Kathmandu valley. When you get onto the village, you need to hike for about 30 minutes to reach to the Phung Phugye canyon. You can start canyoning in this spot for 2-3 hours (depends on your desire) and trek towards the main road for another canyoning spot, i.e. Chhare. You can do the same thing as in Phung Phugye but get a different experience in both of the canyons and stay in Jurethum village at night.  Nest day, you can have a village tour in Kakani which offers beautiful natural sceneries and gorgeous mountain views. On a clear day, you can observe very close views of Langtang and Helambu mountain ranges giving the feeling of as if touching them. You can make this beautiful canyoning trip in Kakani for one or two days, which will be enough to complete this journey of adventure and fun.

However, Kakani Canyoning trip is considered to be medium in difficulty level and provides great opportunity to perform adventurous activities. The best time to make this journey is in the spring and autumn seasons. Moreover, you can visit the popular hill station of Kakani during this trip which is famous for a day picnic and provides gorgeous sceneries. In addition, Japanese Trout Fish is the world fish, whose farming is done in this village.
