Dhangadhi Kailali Nepal

Dhangadhi is headquarter of Kailali district and is the perfect starting point for all adventures in the Far Western region of Nepal. It was established in 1976covering the area of 261.75 square kilometers and situated at the elevation of 109 meters from sea level. It is a sub-metropolitan city with Indian border entry point and is the main gateway and transportation hub of that area. The place offers many attractions for spending a great time in this area. The first aircraft museum of Nepal lies here which inside a real Fokker jet, giving visitors the actual feeling of the pilot. You can enjoy 200 miniatures aircraft models in this museum.

The rural surrounding of dhangadhi offers various attractions for exploring and experiencing this beautiful place. There are two beautiful wetlands namely Jokhar Lake and Mohana River which are located in between rice fields and the Kailali Jungle. Jokhar Lake is famous for boating providing its visitors the comfortable boating experience which is located in the eastern side of the city and is a great place for a relaxing and walking. The Mohana River is another attraction over here and is the most famous bird watching area. The best time to visit here is in the morning time between 6 and 7 am. Dhangadhi also offers bike rental service which is beneficial for exploring the whole area with the beast.

However, there are many Tharu villages around this place and most of the Tharu people live in farming communities, responsible for tilling the area’s many rice fields. They also produce high-quality handicrafts and cherish a faithful cultural life, including special dances in traditional dress.
