Gokyo Valley

Gokyo Valley is one of the most attractive and pretty valleys and considered as one of the most adventurous trekking destinations in Nepal situated at the altitude of 4,750 meters from sea level towards the west of Khumbu region of Himalayas. One of the major attractions of trekking in Gokyo Valley is because there are 19 lakes and all of them are formed by the freshwater system, collectively known as Gokyo Lakes. The trek is relatively considered as high altitude trekking as the trail passes through the glacier valleys and glacial path in the Everest region. Gokyo Village, a tiny village situated on the foothills of Gokyo ridge helps the trekker or tourists by providing some help like food, shelter, etc. which usually closes in the winter time because of extreme cold and snowfall.

Gokyo Valley trek leads you to explore the unexploited beauty of nature that can very rarely be experienced in your lifetime. Normally, Gokyo valley trek starts from Lukla (2,860 meters) with a comfortable flight of about 35 minutes. From Lukla, the trail passes through Phakding (2,610 meters), Namche (3,440 meters), Dole (4,038 meters), Machhermo (4,470 meters) and finally to Gokyo at the elevation of 4,750 meters. Furthermore, the trail passes through Phorste Thanga (3,680 meters), Monjo (2,835 meters) via Namche and finally to Lukla, which is the starting point of this trek. However, Cho La Pass of this trekking is comparatively difficult and is a major challenge for trekkers wanting to success trekking in Everest Base Camp via this pass. Gokyo Ri is one of the perfect viewpoints of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, and their territory. However, the major highlights of this trek are visiting all high valleys of Khumbu region, gliding views of high and most popular peaks of Nepal, adventurous trekking experiences and cultural wonders of Everest region.
