The indigenous inhabitants of Kathmandu are Newars also referred to as Nepa people who created the historical civilization of the valley. At the beginning of the civilization, indigenous people living here called Kathmandu as ‘Nepa-al’ which mean the land of Nepa people. If you go through the history then you can see ‘Nepa-al’ was way more developed than the today’s Kathmandu.

Kathmandu valley is fully filled with religious temple, stupa, and monuments. In fact, you will be tired to see all the temple, stupa, and monuments in every turning of the streets. The more you visit, the more you see and the more time it takes to be discovered. In Kathmandu, seven of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changu Narayan Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. Each of the heritages has its own importance and values. If you’re in Kathmandu then this heritage sites are the most important sites for you to visit. Besides these sites, you can also visit Nagarkot where you can see the beautiful sunrise like you have never seen before. Like similarly, some other places you must visit if you’re in Kathmandu are Rani Pokhari, Narayanhithi Palace, Dakshinkali Temple, Bagh Bhairab Temple, and so much more.
