Khopra Danda Trek

Khopra Danda is a famous trekking destination, also known as Khopra Ridge Trek, leading you towards the higher elevation for the great views of the Annapurna ranges. Only few people know about this beautiful trek, which is considered as one of the short and the best trek to make in Nepal offering you camp at high elevation, providing the best experience of trekking. Khopra Ridge, the highest point situated at the elevation of 3,640 meters and Kayer Lake at the elevation of 4,660 meters from sea level. This little off the beaten path provides you the opportunity to view amazing views of mountains, isolated villages with unspoiled nature and rice fields layered on top of each other descending down into the valley. You can also enjoy the amazing sunrise views over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Khopra Danda trek goes through the busy trekking trail but in a similar way offers scenery, wilderness, and landscape with proper trekking adventure. There are various trails to make this complete trek. Normally, trek to Khopra Danda can be started from Pokhara valley, which can be reached with a comfortable flight or drive from Kathmandu Valley. From Pokhara Valley, the trail follows the way through Tirkhedhunga (1,488 meters), Ghorepani (2,875 meters), Upper Chistibung (3,000 meters) and finally to Khopra Danda at the elevation of 3,640 meters. You can stay/ rest here by camping and enjoying the surroundings with beautiful climates. You can make a day trip to Khayer Lake situated at the elevation of 4,660 meters from here, which is the maximum point of this trek. The journey is adventurous, explorative and sometimes thrilling too. From Khopra Danda, you can head towards Tatopani (1,250 meters) and finally to Pokhara valley again. Khopra Danda trek follows the same path or trail to Ghorepani but dips down into the valley before climbing Khopra ridge.

However, a newly opened short trek with unexploited beauty and less crowd offers the spectacular mountain views along with various ancient villages of different ethnic group people including Gurung, Magar, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Dalits with various species of flora and fauna.
