Neydo Tashi Choeling Monastery

Neydo Tashi Choeling Monastery is wonderful place of peace, nature and serenity which is located at delightful rural place of Kathmandu valley at Pharping which is one hour drive away from Kathmandu. It is also considered as a place of spiritual retreat and ideal place to visit if you want to get away from chaos and pollution of Kathmandu valley. This place always welcome the visitors to observe or participate in the daily prayers and rituals to fully immerse in the aspects of monastic life. Happiness of staying at Neydo is meeting and talking with monks.

In Tashi Choeling Monastery, prayers and rituals activities takes place twice a day (morning and afternoon, Monday-Friday). At weekends, just Saturday morning only, particularly young monks get time off. The encouragement of this place for its visitors is to experience life in the monastery and understand how Kagyu and Nyingma Traditions of Tibetan Buddhism are lived. The monastery treats the visitors as if their own home but consumption of alcohol and rude behavior, making loud noise and public display of sexual nature is prohibited.

Asura Cave is near of this monastery where Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) had meditated and achieved highest realization from here. Dakshinkali temple is located about a kilometer from monastery which is important and one of power places in Nepal dedicated to goddess Kali. There are several possibilities of nature walking in Hattiban forest for short walks or a day to hike.
