Rara Lake Nepal (Rara Taal)

Rara lake is the biggest fresh water lake  comparing other lakes in Nepal. Located on western Jumla and Mugu district, is sorrounded by Rara national park. Rara lake is one of the most popular destination for foreigners and local traveler. Because of the breath-taking view of the lake and glimps of the culture & scenery on the way, thousands of people visit Rara lake every year.

The route to Rara Lake is rough, no accommodation facilities and no health services round the area. Because of lack of facilities the trekkers are recommended to be self sufficient.

How to reach Rara Lake Mugu, Nepal

From Kathmandu you can take flight route to Nepalgunj and fastest would be a one hour. Another option is by bus, you can take a bus from kathmndu to Nepalngunj for about 1500 Neplese Rupee. which is about 12 hour riding depending on traffic and road condition.Air route from Nepalngunjg is the famous route for tourists, is served by Talcha Airport, is 4 km east of the Lake. you can reached there by your own vechicle or by bike which will be the more adventurous to you.If you choose the road way, you can take a bus from Nepalgunj to Kalikot , a whole day ride and kalikot to Nagma and another bus to Gamgadhi. From the Gamgadhi it is 5 hour hike to Rrara.

    this was last year i did Khaptad to rara lake.the moment after 12 days trekking finally I reach lake.it was just magnificent and beautiful.
