Swargadwari Temple

Swargadwari Temple is a pilgrim site with religious significance specifying the role of cows in Hinduism located in the hilltop of Pyuthan district of Nepal. According to the saying, the temple is founded by Guru Maharaj Narayan Khatri (also known as Swami Hamasananda) who is believed spend most of his life near to this area by herding and milking thousands of life. There is also the saying that, Guru asked for the land (which is present temple site) with its landlord for donating that land to him and he started digging that land and become able to obtain curd mixed rice and fire. He explained that those things were buried by Pandavas and also added that they were worshipping in that place before departing to heaven. From that period, the holy fire is burning continuously and the ash (Bivut) coming from the firewood of holy fire is believed to cure different kinds of physical illness like headache, stomach ache, etc.

Swargadwari temple is considered as the most popular religiously important temple and most of its visitors are from Nepal and India. The temple is also considered as the door of heaven in Hinduism and people believe that their door to heaven will be opened after visiting this place after their death. The surrounding area of temple is filled with attractive sceneries like as wonderful views of Snowcapped Mountains, lush-green paddy fields, dense coniferous and rhododendron forests, and the rural life in western part of Nepal and the best offering is the temple itself with its great religious significances and values. Moreover, daily ritual activity is also carried out here which is managed by Swargadwari Ashram Guthi.

Nevertheless, it is also considered as nice trekking destination. Amazing and unique experiences can be explored while trekking to this area. The temple lies on the top of hill which is surrounded by pine forest including large number of Rhododendron trees showing pure form of beauty. Hence, a visit to this place from religious point of view is the best thing to be done by the people of Hinduism.
