Thani Mai Temple

Thani Mai Temple is a small Hindu temple located in the hill near beautiful Bandipur town of Nepal. The temple has a great value from religious as well as cultural point of view. Besides the value of the temple, the temple area also offers great eye-catchy views all around which is really mesmerizing and amazing leading the place as a perfect viewpoint of naturally created beauties. Thani Mai temple hike is only about 30 minutes of walk from main Bandipur town and the trail is not considered so easy, as it is composed of the steep stone path.

Although the hike is not so comfortable, it will surely amaze you when you reach the main destination, Thani Mai Temple. The trail or Thani Mai hike can be started from or near the school located at the southwest end of the Bandipur bazaar, which is a steep 30-minute walk. During the hike, there is a map or direction to the temple. So it won’t be much problem to reach there but if you take a photo of the map, it will be easier. The main reason to climb up to Thani Mai is for the spectacular sunrise views from Gurungche Hill. This place is the best place in Bandipur town for panoramic views of sunrise and sunset, 360-degree vistas in the country, beautiful valleys and landscapes with magnificent views of great Himalayas. In addition, the valley seen below from here is hiding or disappeared in a thick fog resembling a white lake which seems so nice and beautiful.

Moreover, located at the hill, the temple having its own ritual values also offering gorgeous views is one of the great destinations to be visited in Bandipur.
