Yala Peak Climbing

Mt. Yala, situated at the elevation of 5,732 meters in the beautiful Langtang Region of Nepal. The peak is group ‘A’ categorized climbing peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and one of the easier peaks to be climbed. However, this peak is perfectly suited for adventure seekers and beginner mountaineers as it necessarily doesn’t require any climbing experiences but offering the most adventurous journey in the lap of Himalayas. Despite being an easier peak for climbing, nearby Tserko Ri (4,984 meters) and Kanjing Ri (4,600 meters) are the perfect destinations for acclimatization before starting to climb the peak.

Trekking Route

Yala Peak Climbing Journey starts with a drive towards Dhunche from Kathmandu valley, which is 117 kilometers in distance and can be reached in about 8 hours. Yala Peak trek started from Dhunche passes the way through Thulo Syabru, Lama Hotel, Lantang, Kyanjin Gompa, Yala Peak Base Camp (4,800 meters) and finally to the summit of the peak at the elevation of 5,732 meters from sea level. You can enjoy amazing views of scenic nature downward and mesmerizing mountain views all around. Furthermore, the descending trail from the summit of the peak follows the path through the base camp of Yala Peak, Kyanjing Gompa, Lama Hotel via Sherpa Gaun and finally Syabru Besi again, from where similar drive as per arrival, will take you back to Kathmandu valley.

Best Season

Moreover, the best time to climb Yala Peak is autumn (September – November) and spring (March-May), for the comfortable and explorative trip.
