Dhoje Hill (Danda)

Dhoje Hill (Danda) is a scenic hill and considered as the second highest hill of Nepal located at the top of Danda Bazaar of Dhankuta district of eastern Nepal. This perfect spot is situated just 29 kilometers away from Dharan and is one of the best places for observing gorgeous sunrise and sunset views. Dhoje Danda remains cool all over the year which also somehow plays an important role in attracting various domestic as well as foreign tourists. On the way to this place, there exists another most famous and attractive place known as Bhedetar (13 Kilometers away from Dharan) which is situated at the altitude of 1425 meters from sea level providing beautiful views of the valley below it.

To reach this awesome destination, there are various options for traveling from Dharan by buses, jeeps or even on by foot to reach Danda Bazaar passing Dhojedanda, Namje, Kuibir, Okhre, Kanya Pokhari, Luphajung, and Oadare.  From Danda Bazaar, you need to hike for about an hour to reach the summit of Dhojedanda which is situated at the altitude of 2,250 meters above sea level. The main attraction about this place is all about its beautiful sunrise and sunset view. One of the best views offered by this spot is a magnificent view of beautiful hills which look like it is forming a straight line as if magic. In addition, Dhoje hill also offers great view the landscape of 16 different districts of Terai and Hilly Region with magnificent views of famous mountain peaks including Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Kumbhakarna and Mt. Chamlang.

Moreover, there are many musical creations dedicated to this beautiful Dandabazaar and Dhojedanda, most of which are the folk song creation (Lyric) by Ganesh Neupane which is sing by Rajesh Payal Rai and Juna Prasai and music given by Ramkrishna Tripathi. The best part of the visit to Dhoje Hill will be the majestic view of beautiful villages, mountain peaks, and gorgeous sunset and sunrise views.
