Ganja La Chuli Peak Climbing

Ganja La Chuli Peak (also known as Naya Kanga) is one of the high peaks in Nepal situated at the elevation of 5,849 meters above sea level in Langtang Region of Nepal. It is group ‘B’ categorized climbing peak by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). The peak is considered as one of the difficult peaks to be climbed, as it is in the group B category, situated in most beautiful Region of Nepal, i.e. Langtang Region. The route leading to the peak follows the snowy ridges with lots of natural mesmerizing sceneries and wonders, monasteries and many more, impressing trekking in each and every time during this whole trek. You can enjoy the magnificent views of Mt. Lantang Lirung (7,246 meters), Mt. Lenpo Gang 7,083 meters), Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,990 meters) and gazing Shishapangma (8,027 meters) in Tibet, from the summit of the peak.

However, the first climber of the peak is unknown but the peak is much worthy to be climbed. The major highlights of climbing Naya Kanga peak includes touching the summit of 5,849 meters with alpine mountain experience, hiking to Tsergo Ri (4,985 meters) and capturing amazing views of high peaks within Langtang Valley further and beyond, exploring the traditional villages and ancient Bon-Buddhist culture and a rarest opportunity to have glance of Red Pandas.

Climbing Route

Ganja La Chuli Peak Climbing journey starts with a scenic and comforting drive to Dhunche, from where you can start trekking. From Dhunche, the trekking trail passes through Thulo Syabru, Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, Kyangjin Gompa, Tsergo Ri (hiking to 4,985 meters), back to Kyangjin Gompa, Nyengang Kharka, Naya Kanga High Camp (4,960 meters) and finally to the summit of the peak at the elevation of 5,849 meters above sea level. Moreover, the descending trail from the top of the peak descends to Nyengang Kharka, Langtang Village, Lama Hotel and finally Syabrubesi, i.e. the ending point of this trek. From Syabrubesi, about 8 hours of drive will take you back to Kathmandu valley again.

Best Season

Nevertheless, the best season to make this adventurous journey is autumn (September to November) and spring (April to May).
